Filipino communist leader Jose Maria Sison described Trotskyism “as mental disease of boundless mendacity, a virulent type of psychopathic anti-communism.” People with Trotskyitis, as he termed it, “pretend to be for socialist revolution immediately” while “at the same time they say it is impossible to have socialism in any single country.” They are dogmatically “communist” in appearance and entirely anticommunist in substance (Ka Joma).1
Those infected may call themselves “communists” or “Bolsheviks” but follow Trotskyism, the most anticommunist “communist tendency” in history.
The fact is, Trotskyism ceased to be a political tendency within the working class long ago. Through their opposition and attempted sabotage of the first experiment in socialist construction (the USSR), Trotskyites became “a frenzied and unprincipled band of wreckers, diversionists and spies” (Stalin).2 Sad but true!
The history of their “tendency” is not one of participation within the international communist movement but is one of opposition to it. Their history is literally one of counterrevolution; of saboteurs, traitors, careerists, opportunists, Nazi collaborators, fascists, and government agents. Since the time of Lenin and Stalin, Trotskyites have been fervently fought and defeated time and time again by literally all the great leaders, Parties and movements for national liberation, socialism and communism the world over!
Neckbeards and creepy white “Leftists”, Unite!
A particularly stubborn strain of this anticommunist virus was brought to Canada sometime in the 2000’s. The “International Marxist Tendency”, a Trotskyite ring based out of London England, sent some pompous prick named Alex Grant to infect the Canadian people with their strain of Trotskyitis. He set up a Canadian section of their “tendency”, calling it “Fightback!”.
Like all proper Trotskyite groups, “Fightback!” quickly gained a reputation for disrupting and taking over actions, for claiming credit for things they had nothing to with, for sporadically covering the streets with the most unappealing and repetitive posters, for having an extremely-high membership turnover rate, and for not accomplishing much of anything. It seems the group focused almost entirely on printing out copious copies of their shitty magazine while infamously fostering and protecting an abhorrent internal culture. Within the group pseudo-intellectualism, con-artistry, white chauvinism, misogyny, sexual harassment, coerced group dating, self-indulgence, grandiosity and depravity ran rampant.3 Absolute trashcan vibes.
But Alex Grant could only hold this cult-like hideout for sex-pests and idiots together for so long. By mid-2023, after more than a decade in charge, his involvement in scandal after scandal culminated in Grant quickly and quietly leaving the group before apparently vanishing from the face of the Earth. The whole fiasco was swept under the rug, with Grant’s 2bit buddies and creepy accomplices maintaining their high positions within their “organization”. Shortly after, rather coincidentally, “Fightback!” and the entire “tendency” were rebranded.
Canada’s “Fightback!” became, I shit you not, the “Revolutionary Communist Party”. That’s right, they took the exact same name of the Maoist Revolutionary Communist Party (PCR-RCP), less than 2 years after the PCR-RCP collapsed! The American branch of the “tendency” also renamed themselves to the “Revolutionary Communist Party”, even though the RCP USA has existed since 1975 and continues to . . . Such perplexing naming decisions can only be explained as either a complete lack of finesse and awareness, or as an intentionally confusing, wrecking maneuver.4
As Uncle Ho warned us, “in all countries, the Trotskyists give themselves fine names in order to mask their dirty work and banditry” (Hồ Chí Minh).5 In our case, the names are not only “fine”, but stolen!
The “RCP”: a Reactionary Cult of Posers
So, what’s the difference between a cop and someone who behaves exactly like one? . . . I’m not sure either.
Suffice to say, Trotskyites have historically clamoured to collaborate and make deals with bourgeois governments and State agencies. They’ve proved themselves again and again to be agents of imperialism and enemies of the people, straight up. Their degenerate “tendency” is nothing more than a counterrevolutionary grouping propped up as a capitalist State asset.
The Trotskyite “RCP” continues to “organize” in the most unorganized way. They spit out their stale and bitter magazine, spread the most hideous and detached propaganda (“aRe YOU a CoMmUnIsT?”), while remaining as distant from the masses as possible (which is actually good, so as to not infect them). Like basically all Trotskyites, they spread their soulless and stupid conception/distortion of “communism” as if it’s a religion. They think they just have to “spread the word” to change the world. No theoretical rigor, social skills nor political strategy to speak of! Just ego-farming, complete lunacy and apparent police operations.
The rotten Trotskyite core opportunistically surrounds itself with confused and uninitiated people who they keep ignorant. Young impressionable people caught in the Trotskyite net are taught to look down upon the masses and fear real revolution. They’re directed not to read certain things and are told fictional retellings of history.6 They’re encouraged to participate in strange or inappropriate interpersonal relations, among other nonsense. The Trotskyite virus turns young people into foolish conspirators who end up wreaking havoc within, and spreading lies about, our revolutionary movement!
Eradicate Trotskyitis and immunize the people!
Listen, the shit stain “RCP” is not Revolutionary, not Communist, and not even a Party in the proper sense. Its leading members are anti-Marxists and proven enemies of the people. They are more dangerous for working people and our movement than the most crazed Gonzoloid “urban guerrillas”, while being straight-up more right-wing and anticommunist than the most ignorant white suburbanites. Alongside the “RCP” there’s some slightly less abhorrent and weird Trotskyite cliques running amok in Canada. These include “Socialist Action” (i.e. the confused “socialist caucus” of the antisocialist NDP), the Spring Socialist Network (a somewhat less-weird group that’s still thoroughly Trotskyite i.e. anticommunist to its core)7 and numerous other small groups.
But while Trotskyitis in the above-mentioned organizational forms is a nuisance, it’s truly dangerous due to how it seeps into and putrefies the broader, genuinely revolutionary movement in Canada. Trotskyitis has infected the minds of many, many people, and is presently found in every corner of our revolutionary movement.8
Those most prone to Trotskyitis are: isolated middle-class people; those (mis)educated in postmodernism, anti-communism and radical-liberalism in university; and opportunistic creepy men who disgustingly see our revolutionary movement primarily as some sort of alt dating pool. Trotskyitis excuses people’s counter-revolutionary habits and biases, and fuels reactionary ways of thinking and being. It generally unites people around some “Revolution! (anywhere but here) Revolution! (anytime but now)” type of defeatist shit. Trotskyitis continues to be a stubborn corrupting force within many individuals and organizations across the country.
The “Permanent Revolution” Delusion
For example, a disappointing amount of “Maoist” Third-Worldists and other “communists” find reprieve in Trotsky’s “theory” of “permanent revolution”. These Right-wing “communists” share with Trots their rabid “revolutionary” posturing, their cheerleading of revolutions abroad, and their complete aversion to actually making revolution at home. While we all agree that the revolution should be durable and continual (i.e. “permanent”), the Trotskyite’s oh-so precious “theory of permanent revolution” actually hides with-in it many unworkable concepts and counterproductive ideals.
Namely, it sees any sort of alliance-building with the progressive, downwardly-mobile sections of the middle-classes as completely undesirable. It entirely discounts the revolutionary potential of the falling, lower middle classes, and underestimates the strength and ability of the dispossessed working class to lead them. It sees the securing, building-up, consolidation and defense of a socialist State (like the Soviet Union) not as a necessary step towards communism, but as a “traitorous” compromise.
The “theory of permanent revolution”, and Trotskyitis in general, sees only the world arena and not the regional, national, country-wide, or continental arenas. It sees only the distant future and not the present. It sees only the ideal and not the practical. It’s ultra-“Left” in form and stupidly Right-wing in content.

Keep in mind there’s never been a Trotskyite revolution, and there never will be. The entire historical development of Trotskyism has been to divert, co-opt and sabotage genuinely revolutionary movements. To concoct grandiose schemes, posit impossible “theories”, dismiss the masses, and insert delusional brain-rot into the minds of politically active people. It’s designed to undermine every real attempt at making socialist revolution.
It’s been a little over 85 years since Trotsky himself was neutralized by a real one, (RIP Ramón Mercader). Yet the virus that originated with him continues to possess imbeciles and animate deranged corpses near and far. It’s high time that we lodge yet another icepick into the infectious and deranged brain of the undead Trotskyite beast!Alas, the rooting out and total extermination of Trotskyitis has, since the days of Lenin and Stalin, been an annoying yet vital and consistent part of waging revolution!

- In Canada, the Trotskyite “RCP” naming fiasco, (besides ripping-off the genuine PCR-RCP), has the practical effect of basically flooding the internet/archives/etc. with its new crap in the “RCP” name, thereby swamping and obscuring older, genuine PCR-RCP material. It also makes popular political involvement and histography more confusing and cumbersome. So, stupidity or intentional sabotage? ↩︎
